Givin' God some Glory!!!

Today I am givin' God some glory and praise. My man and I are celebrating 9 years of marriage. The Lord has always had His hand on our marriage, but we haven't always allowed Him to be our marriage. For years we struggled and we struggled hard. At one point in our marriage divorce papers had been filed and the end was inevitable. Praise God we had family and friends on their knees fighting for our marriage.

A few months ago I was leading a Bible Study on the fruit of the Spirit. The week we discussed what is means to possess agape love, God's love, the Lord promoted me to get out my wedding invitation. He and I went on a little journey back through my years of marriage. As I sat and read our invitation the verse we had included brought me to tears.
"Love knows no limit to its endurance,
no end to its trust.
Love still stands
when all else has fallen."
1 Corinthians 13:7-8

Yes, our marriage has been rocky. It's been hard. But, God's love for us as individuals and as a couple has never ceased to be. Nothing in and of ourselves was keeping the two of us together, but God had a plan for our lives. In His infinte wisdom He brought us together and what God brings together no thing nor person can tear apart. Today, God is our marriage. He is our Rock and He is our love for each other. Our desire is to share with others that there is absolutely nothing too big for God. If God can heal this marriage, He can do the same for yours. He so loves you and desires to shine through your life and marriage.

So, today, to my man I honor you. You have been a beautiful picture to me of God's love for His church. I am so thankful that God brought us together and kept us together. You are a wonderful father and my best friend. I look forward walking hand-in-hand with you through this journey that God has set before us. Happy Anniversary! I love you!

Yes it has been a rocky ride but i would do it all over again in a heart beat. The only thing i would do different would be to let God be our designated driver. You know i have found that whenever you are not around the wheels fall off the wagon, that use to bother me (being a macho man and all), now i like it that way. The Greeks used to say that in the beginning the gods would split a soul into two peices and cast them both to earth. They beleived that true love could only happen when the two peices became one again. i can honestly say that we have true love. Even if i did forget our anniversary.

That was a beautiful tribute to your marriage and to God.

I love your husband's comment about the wheel's falling off when your not there. Cute!

Chris & Jen,
God truly is full of grace and mercy!! The two of you are an awesome example of what He can do with two individuals that are surrended to him. Be blessed, continue to allow Him to hold you in His hands and stay focused on the cross. He has used the two of you in so many lives -- He has answered our prayers as the two of you have found "true love" (to quote Christopher) and for that we are so grateful. Continue to allow Him to lead and guide you in the days to come and the future will be far greater than you can ever imagine!!

Be blessed beyond measure,
Dad & Mom (Green)

P.S. Thanks for blessing us with 3wonderful grandbabies!! Give them a hug from us!!

What an awesome post! I love that God doesn't just heal us physically. He can touch and heal anywhere we need healing...even our marriages! He is so good, so faithful, so worthy to be trusted!

Thanks for your sweet, sweet comments! I am sorry I haven't come by sooner. Still working on my time on the computer. :)
Blessings! SO nice to meet you!

I am so glad you asked me about how the attitude of the my heart has been this week?

It has not gone as well lately. I do know why though. I had been doing my quiet time in the afternoon while my 2 yo takes a nap. I knew God was wanting me to do it in the morning and it took me a long time to get there because I have to get up at 4:30 am to get it done before the rest of the family gets up and around. I did that for a little over a week and now I am not doing it anymore. I'm not even doing it in the afternoon. Therefore, my attitude hasn't been the best. I know I am letting God down again. I don't understand why it has to be so hard!
