I'm going to be giving away a Deluxe Edition Streams in the Desert Daily Devotional Journal and a children's Scripture CD. This beautiful Streams In the Desert Devotional was first compiled by Mrs. Charles E. Cowman during her early years as a missionary in Japan and China. It contains writings from various Godly men and women, like C. H. Spurgeon, George Mueller, Matthew Henry, Hannah Whitall Smith, and many others. "Let the Children Come" is a wonderful children's music CD full of Scripture songs to help your children hide God's Word in their hearts. All of the songs included on the CD are original and have been produced by Dianne Hart of Hart to Heart Ministries, Inc.

My favorite character in the Christmas story is the shepherds because even though are lowly, they still visit Jesus and adore him.

Jessica Miller checking in. My favorite is Jesus. To be able to hold such a Big God in aour little arms.
I admire Mary most because she was such a willing servant.
I can honestly say after having a son and being pregnant last Christmas, that Mary really stands out to me. What was it like to carry the King of Kings in her stomach. I'm still struck by the frailty of a child and having a son, the intimacy that she had with the baby Jesus as she was able to nurse him. It's just an amazing role that God gave her. I am so amazed that Jesus came as a fragile child and as I see my son so young and so prone to sin, I wonder how perfect a child Jesus must have been..I guess he wouldn't throw fits because he was sinless! Wow..Mary was truly blessed in many ways!

Your message today (Tues 12/11) made me think about how much the part Joseph played in the birth of Jesus. Being human, Joseph wanted to put Mary aside because she was pregnant without being married to him so obviously it was with another man! But Joseph listened when God spoke to him and obeyed God without question. Oh to be married to someone who hears God and obeys without question! To have a man like Joseph should be the aim of all christian women.

My favorite Character is Mary. Knowing that she carried the savior in her womb, feeling him move, nurturing him and providing for him. Did she know just how much SHE would suffer in watching her son save all mankind?
My favorite person in the Christmas story would have to be Jesus. God always amazes me, but this story has to be the most amazing. To see how He came to earth as a newborn to live as we live (being human) and to come up against the same temptations in every day life like us (but remain sinless) is just amazing to me. Then, the fact that He sent His son for the specific reason to die for our sins, so that we can have eternal life if we believe in Him. That is such a gift. I hope that we all remember the most important gift this Christmas - the Gift of Christ!
Merry Christmas to you all!

My favorite person in the Christmas story is Mary because she was willing to complete the work God had planned for her to do. She was completely obedient to God's command to her as evidenced by her reply to Gabriel in Luke 1:38, "Then Mary said, 'Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.'" It wasn't "convenient" for Mary to be with child at this time in her life; for goodness sakes, she wasn't even married. But, she obeyed God because she knew that her obedience would bring glory to Him.
I would have to say that my favorites are the 2 wise men. They traveleled from far away to witness this miraculous event. And I get goose pimples imagining how they must have felt to finally reach the "star event".
Since giving birth only a week ago, I'd have to say that Mary holds a special place in my heart right now. I think about the song "Mary Did You Know?" and specifically the lines "...when you kiss your little baby, you kiss the face of God" and "the sleeping child you're holding is the Great I AM." Wow! And to be the one chosen for the role of carrying and caring for Jesus! I can't imagine.
