This morning I spent some time going through my Scripture box. I have an index card box that I use to file verses in that I've memorized or verses that have encouraged me or ones that have challenged me in some form or fashion. Today I want to share with you a few of those verses that once again struck me as vital in the season of life that I am in.
"In heaven I have only You, and on this earth You are all I want. My body and mind my fail, but You are my strength and my choice forever."
Psalm 73:25-26
~ Is God your first choice? Is He your all? ~
"I say then, walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh."
Galatians 5:16
~ Are you walking in the power of the Holy Spirit or are you allowing your fleshly desires to rule your life? ~
"For Ezra had prepared in his heart to seek the law of the Lord and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel."
Ezra 7:10
~ First, Ezra studied the Word of God for himself. He had daily time with God. Second, he practiced in his own life what God had taught him. Then, and only then, was he able to share with others what God had done for him. Is your heart prepared to hear from the Lord? Are you daily seeking after Him and His righteousness? Are you living out what He's called you to do? Are you sharing with others how God has worked His will in you? ~
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
1 John 1:9
~ Do you have sin in your life right now that needs to be brought to the Lord? Confess it to Him. Repent and turn from it. He will forgive you and wash you white as snow. ~
"I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High."
Psalm 9:1-3
~ When was the last time you praised the Lord Most High for all that He's done for you? ~
"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."
Galatians 5:1
~ Are you living in the freedom Christ died for to make possible or are you moping around in the shoulda, coulda, woulda's of life past, bound by the enemies chains? Beloved, Christ came to set you free. Arise and bask in His freedom today!~
I would love to hear from you. What verses is the Lord engraving on your heart right now?
10 Lovely Thoughts Shared:
Great verses Jenifer. Thanks for dropping by! :)
I forgot where in the bible it is but it's - God is in heaven and you are on earth so let your words be few.
If I would only listen and heed those words! I'm sure my family would be happy!! :)
Yip that's the one!
I replied to you over at my place!! :)
I love to see the verses that others use for encouragement and teaching in their lives. Thank you for sharing yours.
I cling to a few:
Jer. 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. (KJV)
Gen. 50:20
Psalm 55:22
Psalm 119:141-144; 153-156
Isaiah 41:13
1 Peter 3:13-15
who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? but even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear, do not be frightened". But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord and give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of hope that is in you with meekness and fear (respect)
